Soloman Tump Big love to The Germ. Big love to Ben Vince! Solid release again from ATC. In 3D. Favorite track: EP/64-57 Track 1.

Teedubyabee Crazy beautiful free skronk (Drums, Sax, FX) with Dali's amazing wraith-like vocals recording at a live happening. Feels like an appropriate exorcism of 2020. Wish I'd been there... Favorite track: EP/64-57 Track 2.

JC This show was LOUD, packed full of people bouncing barely able to move and played through a 3D soundsystem. I couldn't see them, I couldn't really see anything apart from a red strobe, you had to be there really.... or I guess now you don't because it's out on tape. I ordered it this morning and the tape turned up on my doorstep about 3 hours later. Strange forces at work I think.... there most certainly are.... Favorite track: EP/64-57 Track 2.

57 was improvised and performed at the Island (Bristol) for The Bristol Germ Chapter 3 Launch Party on the 01/02/20.

EP/64 should've broken up by now - this was the 57th assembly of the 64 part EP (Ephemeral Project): a shifting lineup of 'live only' pummeling improv noise, 'ard punk skronk and vocal witchcraft that was due to end suddenly on their 64th gig in July 2020. Past revolving door members include Ossia, Gretchen (from Guttersnipe), Yoshino Shigihara, Silver Waves, members of Gnod, Agathe Max, Annie Gardiner (Hysterical Injury), DJ Ductape, Laura Philipps, Jesse Webb, Copper Sounds. They're a band now kept in suspended animation, waiting to fulfil their ephemeral nature.

ATC present you with this historical live document on its one year anniversary. A night when EP/64's only permanent players Dali de Saint Paul (Harrga / Viridian Ensemble) and drum powerhouse Dan Johnson fused explosively with guest wails from Ben Vince on sax and electronics (also of Housewives and much solo acclaim). Never could an 'improv band' move a room of people like this, never has an 'improv band' hit you so hard in the face with two microphones.

We spoke to people on the ground in Bristol about EP/64's cultish Avon following

WHAT DOES EP/64 MEAN TO YOU?
"Not too sure what EP/64 means to me, but when they’re done I’m done."
"EP/64 is the only permanent thing in my life"
"They just fill u with joy"
"Being alive and feeling all the things"

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE NIGHT IN QUESTION
"I was full of spirit, we crowded round the foldable table abundant in badges and copies of the latest Germ. The sound was 3D, The love was 3D, We sweated in 3D"

Long live the Ephemeral Project
Long live Avon

about

Dali de Saint Paul

I am a "raw" vocalist and improviser playing experimental music. In 2016, I formed the Ephemeral Project 64 -EP/64- where I invited friends to improvise live and celebrate freedom and joy of togetherness through music.
The project ceased after 64 performances in May 2022. I'm playing in Ondata Rossa, Harrga, Viridian Ensemble, dark idl and Penumbra. Thank you for supporting my work.
